A World-Class Education.
No Internet Required.

Educ8 puts a library, a curriculum, and a patient teacher on your own machine. Khan Academy and Kolibri courseware, an open map of everything a child learns, the whole of Wikipedia offline, your own documents made searchable, and School Mait to teach from all of it. Free, local, and yours; whether the network is gone, weak, or deliberately unplugged.

01 // WHAT'S INSIDE

The Whole Library, Local

Every pack installs onto your disk and answers from your disk. Once it's down, it works on a bus, in a blackout, or a classroom with no connection at all.

Courseware

Khan Academy and Kolibri course libraries, installed as offline packs. Structured lessons, exercises, and video, from arithmetic to advanced topics.

The Learning Map

The curriculum is a graph, not a list: 1,590 concepts wired together by 3,221 prerequisite links, from first words to algebra. Every link says what must come first, and why. Inspired by and building upon the open Marble Skill Taxonomy: open data anyone can inspect, distilled from the US and UK curriculums.

Offline Wikipedia

Kiwix/ZIM libraries put Wikipedia and its sister projects on your drive. The world's reference desk, readable and searchable with zero connectivity.

Local Document RAG

Drop in your own PDFs, notes, and textbooks. Educ8 indexes them locally so My Mait can retrieve, cite, and teach from your material, not just the packs.

Maps, Notes, Data Tools

Offline maps, structured notes, and data tooling round out the study desk. Research, write, and explore without a single request leaving the machine.

Approval-Gated Packs

Content packs are large, so nothing downloads silently. You see the size, you approve the pack, it installs. Your disk, your call.

STANDING ON GOOD SHOULDERS

Educ8 is inspired by and builds upon open projects we admire: Project NOMAD proved a whole offline library, maps, and local AI can live on one machine, and Marble's open Skill Taxonomy mapped everything a child learns. We link to them because good ideas deserve credit, not camouflage.

02 // SCHOOL MAIT

A Teacher That Never Clocks Out

Content alone is a bookshelf. School Mait is what turns it into a classroom.

Retrieval teaching
Answers grounded in the packs and your documents, with sources
Worked examples
Step-by-step solutions that adapt to where you got stuck
Progress memory
Remembers what you've covered and what needs revisiting
Prerequisite tracing
Stuck? It walks the learning map backwards to the missing piece

Guided Practice, Not Just Answers

School Mait uses retrieval over the local corpus, worked examples, and progress memory to run actual teaching loops: explain, practise, check, revisit. And because the curriculum is a prerequisite graph, a stuck learner never just gets the same explanation louder; School Mait traces the map backwards to find the missing concept and teaches that first. Every answer is grounded in material you can open and read, which is exactly what a cloud chatbot with no local library cannot do.

Built On My Mait

School Mait is a teaching workflow of My Mait, your free companion and orchestration chassis. Progress lives in your EveryWear Vault, so the record of what you've learned belongs to you, not to an ed-tech dashboard.

03 // WHY FREE

Education Shouldn't Phone Home

Educ8 is free because the base layer of EveryWear is free, and because learning is the clearest case for sovereign software there is.

📶
Built For Low Connectivity

Half the world studies where bandwidth is expensive, slow, or absent. Educ8 treats the offline classroom as the primary case, not the fallback. Download once where there's signal, learn forever where there isn't.

👁
No Surveillance

No accounts required to study. No attention analytics, no engagement funnels, no student data resold as a business model. What a learner reads, asks, and struggles with stays on the learner's machine.

No Subscription

A subscription is a tax on curiosity. Educ8's packs are free to install and free to keep. The material doesn't expire when a card declines.

Knowledge that lives on your machine cannot be taken back.

NOT CSR. ETHOS.

Access to tailor-made education for everyone is not a corporate social responsibility gimmick we wheel out for the annual report. It is a fundamental expression of the decentralised Strands Nation ethos: from many strands, we weave a better reality.

04 // RUNS ON ANYTHING

Modest Hardware Welcome

Educ8 clears every VRAM band in the EveryWear compatibility matrix, including machines below the 6 GB line.

Full check, every band. Retrieval, reading, and study workflows are light. Educ8 runs clean on the EveryWear minimum spec: a 64-bit x86_64/AMD64 CPU with 16 GB RAM, even where local VRAM is limited. Heavier My Mait reasoning scales up when better hardware or on-demand power is present. Full matrix on the download page.
